Aspire Active Air 8 Pressure Care Air Mattress
THIS ALERT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CONTINUED SAFE AND PROPER USE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT.
You may have previously received a communication providing details of the updated user manual. This letter provides a further update following agreement with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
Please ensure this letter is read and followed, including following the below QR code to acknowledge receipt and understanding of the content, regardless of prior communication.
Aidacare, following agreement with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), is conducting a product alert for user manual of the Aspire Active Air 8 Pressure Care Mattress. The affected product has been supplied to you or your organisation.
We have updated the user manual for these mattresses. The device remains safe to use, has not changed, and no return, repair or modification is required. The updated manual provides enhanced guidance to support the continued safe and effective use of the product. This is part of our commitment to providing trusted advice and ongoing support.
The key updates include:
- Additional warnings when using the device in the presence of oxygen enriched environments, including oxygen concentrators — Section 5, page 9
- Additional setup instructions, in particular correct air-supply hose routing to not lift the mattress off the bed base, and when using bolsters to extend bed lengths – Section 7, pages 11-14

Review the updated sections with relevant users, carers and staff.

Replace or discontinue use of any previous copies of the manual.

Ensure the product continues to be used in accordance with the updated instructions.

Aidacare Pty Ltd has updated the user manual (Instructions for Use) for its lifters, following a serious adverse event involving a death not caused by the device itself. The User Manual has been enhanced to strengthen existing instructions around correct and incorrect sling attachment methods and pre-use checks.
This action commenced in April 2026. Aidacare is now attempting to reach a small number of customers who cannot be identified.
Risk: Improper attachment of slings to the sling bar can result in patient falls, leading to severe injury or death.
